The Steel Wheels band came up with an ingenious project idea that they titled 'Distance Together.' In a unique way to stay connected to fans during the pandemic, they offered an opportunity to commission songs by fans! Sharon was a HUGE Steel Wheels fan and so I thought this was a perfect way to keep her name and memory alive, and support these amazing guys by commissioning a song that was all about Sharon.
The band was deeply moved and inspired by the myriad of requests, especially the stories behind them, and decided to select 9 of the songs to create an album titled 'Everyone A Song'! Lo and behold, Sharon's song made the #1 track! Those involved in the selected songs were interviewed over Zoom in order to create a Podcast that told the stories behind the songs and the unique process of commissioning them in the first place.
