Sharon was my (only) daughter, my best friend, and my constant companion. She had epilepsy. Sharon wanted to live life to the fullest in spite of her debilitating illness, and that she did. I, however, hovered like any parent would, being vigilant in the attempt to keep her safe from the grand mal seizures that came without warning. Sharon was unable to work during the last year of her life. I didn't breathe until I heard her wake in the morning or arrive home safely from being out for whatever reason. I miss her more than words can express. There simply are no words when a parent loses a child, regardless of their age.
