It was 1988, and my second year living in Natick! I was in the 4th grade, in Mrs. Bennett's class. I had had little crushes before but in came this beautiful blue eyed girl I hadn't seen the previous year. I went from playing G.I. Joes with the boys, to jump rope with the girls just to try to get her to notice me. In fact, so much so, that the teachers called a meeting with my parents because they were concerned I was playing with the girls instead of the boys too much! My favorite show on television at that time (besides MTV) was The Wonder Years. Ironically, like Kevin Arnold chasing Winnie Cooper, I spent the next 2 years trying to get her to feel about me the way I felt about her. Much like Kevin and Winnie, it was never meant to be, but we remained friends throughout middle and high school. Through it all she always remained that sweet and kind person she always was! I will always look back on those times with a grand fondness and appreciation for showing me what it meant to care for someone more than a friend or family member. Sharon, you will always be that Winnie to my Kevin, during those Wonder Years!

You are a beautiful, kind, and wonderful spirit, and I am glad to have known you. You will be truly missed, but always remembered. Nothing but love, Button
